| Dale Fodness, Ph.D., is the Director of the Marketing Management Program at the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management, as well as an independent consumer researcher and marketing strategist. His business career has been enriched and informed by the active integration of both academic and practitioner interests. His academic life ensures that his business insights are technologically and conceptually state-of-the-art. Academic Career Highlights |

| Dale teaches a broad spectrum of
foundation and advanced marketing courses at the University of Dallas
Graduate School of Management, both online and in the classroom. Prior
to coming to the University of Dallas, he taught at the University
of Alaska Fairbanks and the University
of Texas at San Antonio. In addition, he has served as a visiting
professor of marketing at the Helsinki
School of Economics and Business Administration since 1990,
delivering courses in Finland on marketing principles, research and
strategy. He has also taught in the U.K., Canada, Russia, the People's
Republic of China and Malaysia.
Dale is an active member of the American Marketing Association and an annual speaker for the AMA's Collegiate Chapters conference, where he challenges an international audience of college and university students to excel in marketing and business careers. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Services Marketing and reviews for a number of other academic and practitioner journals including the Services Industry Journal, the Journal of Travel Research and Tourism Management. He has published numerous research articles appearing, variously, in the Journal of Services Marketing, the Journal of Travel Research, the Annals of Tourism Research and the International Marketing Review. In addition, he has made many formal research presentations and presented workshops at such venues as the American Marketing Association, the Association for Consumer Research and the Academy of Marketing Science. His research interests focus on consumer behavior, particularly customer satisfaction and service quality issues in the services industries. He was the 1999 recipient (along with co-author Brian Murray) of the International Travel and Tourism Research Association (TTRA) Award for the "Outstanding Research Article" appearing in the Journal of Travel Research during the year. He also won the award in 1991 and in 1993 he received TTRA's Dissertation Award, selected from 23 entrants from universities around the world. |

| In 1997, Dale was hired to design and implement the
marketing research department at the Dallas
/ Fort Worth International Airport. He and his team of marketing
research professionals conducted customer satisfaction / service quality
measurement, competitive analyses and strategic partnering with internal
and external clients.
As an independent consultant since 1991, Dale specializes in assisting clients in identifying and planning for strategic customer initiatives, which he supports through technical and research activities including:
Dale also conducts live seminars and workshops across the U.S. and internationally for academic and corporate clients, including the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration and Microsoft. Dale began his marketing career with the Florida Division of Tourism, where he managed large-scale tourism marketing research studies. He developed, implemented and monitored research designs and methodologies used to track and predict travel market trends, create market segments and competitor profiles, and identify effective tourism marketing strategies - particularly in the areas of advertising and promotion. He also directed and trained research staff in the use of statistical, analytical, spreadsheet and database management systems. |
